Unless specifically directed by the race direction, all repairs must be carried out during racing time.
GENERAL RACE RULES
No lap will be returned to any team with the exception of: - the car has passed the counter in a wrong lane and this has been confirmed by more than 1 person. - the powersupply of the track fails. (However if for example a shortage caused by a lost part causes the track short, it will NOT result in laps being given back)
Technical inspection procedure
Qualifying starts without any TC having been done.
Directly after the qualifying run the car goes into parc fermé and TC. Should the car fail TC, the team gets a time penalty, and can’t rectify the problem until the race has started and the penalty has been sat through.
The 6 slowest cars will be TC-ed first, so as to start the race as quick as possible.
DIRECTLY at the start of the race in which the faulty car starts, the team have to sit out their 1 minute, being stationary at the start, and only after that one minute, the team can start correcting their car according to the TC's wishes. And only then, the teams are allowed to start the race.
Penalties: - a 1 minute delay at the first following run for not passing Tech. Additional 30 seconds delay will follow per each individual infringement with the rule set.
(example: car A is too low, too wide and misses 2 inserts. This team will get a 2 minute penalty – 1 minute for point one, too low, 30 seconds for point 2, too wide and another 30 seconds for missing inserts. Number of missing inserts is not important, 1 missing insert gets the same penalty as 4 missing inserts)
- Only after this penalty has been sat out work may begin to correct the error. During the first lanechange the TC will check if the car now meets the rules in full.
- Not passing post race TC = all laps of best stint will be deducted from the overall total lap result
Technical inspection procedure
To prevent a huge stack up and stress, we are totally revising the TC procedure.
Qualifying starts without any TC having been done, each team have however filled in and supplied the OEPS Scrutineers form when registering and receiving the handout.
